TCI PrecurStrong Carbon Fibre

Pre-Cured Strips

Enhance the strength and durability of your structures with TCI PrecurStrong, a pre-cured carbon fibre laminate designed to reinforce and upgrade various structural elements. Easy to apply with PrecurStrong 400-SA, an adhesive epoxy, PrecurStrong offers a reliable solution for addressing increased live and dead loads, accommodating changes in building utilization, and more.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Structural Applications:

  • Increased live and dead loads in structures

  • Enhanced traffic capacity on bridges and viaducts

  • Flexibility for changes in building utilization or industrial machinery layout

  • Enables the removal of walls, columns, or sections of floor slabs

Advantages:

  • Complies with design criteria of ACI 440 & CSA S806

  • High strength-to-weight ratio

  • Lightweight, adding negligible dead load to the structure

  • Non-corrosive, non-magnetic, and non-conductive

Adhesive Epoxy (TCI 400-SA)

  • Two-component, 100% solid, room temperature cure thermoset epoxy

  • Low viscosity with long pot life characteristics

  • Superior tensile and flexural strength

  • Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) of 94°C (201°C)

Mechanical and Physical Properties

  • Tensile Strength: 400 Ksi (2,758 MPa)

  • Tensile Modulus: 24 Msi (165.474 GPa)

  • Elongation at Break: 1.70%

  • Temperature Resistance: 300 F (149 C)

  • Thickness: 0.0472” (1.2mm)

Installation Guidelines:

  • Maintain a dry dehumidified environment with a minimum temperature of 10°F above the dew point.

  • Ensure substrate surfaces are at SSD condition before installation.

  • Thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces for continuous contact between PrecurStrong and the substrate.

  • Apply TCI 400-SA adhesive epoxy and install PrecurStrong, allowing for curing time between layers.

  • Apply fireproofing as required by project documents.

  • Final cure time: 72 hours before returning to service.
